Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has publicly stated that race was a central factor in the death of Nolan Wells, a young Black man whose body was discovered in Mississippi. In an exclusive interview with TMZ, Crockett expressed deep suspicion about the circumstances surrounding Wells' disappearance and death.
Crockett noted that Wells vanished while in the company of three white individuals, who she claims quickly deleted their social media accounts. She also highlighted that Wells left his cellphone behind, calling the situation highly questionable. According to Crockett, this is not just an isolated incident but a systemic issue in Mississippi, where ignoring the role of race would be willfully blind.
When challenged that Wells' high school football coach appeared on TMZ Live and stated there was no known racial tension involving Wells and his friends, Crockett remained firm in her assessment. She argued that the coach's perspective does not negate the broader pattern of racial dynamics often at play in such cases.
Crockett's comments come as the investigation into Wells' death continues, sparking national debate about race and justice.
