Connecticut lawmakers are advancing legislation to combat the growing threat of nonconsensual AI-generated sexual images. The proposed bill would allow victims to sue those responsible for creating or distributing such content and empower the state's Attorney General to hold companies accountable if they fail to remove the images promptly.

Attorney General William Tong highlighted the widespread availability of this damaging material online and its devastating impact on victims. "This technology has outpaced our laws, and we need to catch up," Tong said.

The bill is part of a broader push by attorneys general across the country to update legal frameworks to address ethical challenges posed by artificial intelligence. If passed, Connecticut would join several states enacting similar measures to protect individuals from digital exploitation.
