Control and Coercion: Ex-Mistress of Fired Michigan Coach Speaks Out

Paige Shiver, the former assistant of ex-University of Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore, is speaking publicly for the first time about their secret affair. In an interview set to air on "Good Morning America," Shiver accused Moore of wielding "complete control" over her, manipulating her emotions and career to keep her trapped in the relationship.

"Here's a man that had complete control over me, over my emotions, over my career — and he knew that, and he used it, he used it against me," Shiver said in a preview clip.

Shiver described a pattern of manipulation, saying that every time she tried to leave, Moore would find a way to pull her back. "Every time I tried to pull away, every time I tried to get out of even Michigan, he always had a story, always had a way to pull me in … making me feel that I couldn't leave him because he was so miserable without me."

The affair came to light in December 2025, when Shiver handed over evidence to university officials. Moore was fired that same day for what the school called an "inappropriate relationship." Hours later, authorities say Moore forced his way into Shiver's home, grabbed butter knives and scissors, and threatened to harm himself. He was charged but earlier this month received 18 months' probation.

Shiver's full interview is scheduled to air Friday on ABC.
