Court Revokes Bond for 'Chud the Builder' After Courthouse Shooting

A Tennessee judge has revoked the bond of Dalton Eatherly, known online as "Chud the Builder," after he allegedly shot a man outside a courthouse while already out on bail.

Eatherly was initially arrested on May 9 for skipping out on a nearly $400 restaurant bill, facing charges of theft of services, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He posted bond and was released. Less than a week later, he allegedly shot another man, leading to an attempted murder charge that violated the terms of his bond, which required him to stay out of trouble.

Judge Melissa Blackburn revoked the bail, citing "what I've seen on social media and Mr. Eatherly's behavior."

Eatherly's attorney, Jacob Fendley, had filed a motion to dismiss the charges, but Wednesday's hearing only addressed the bond revocation. Eatherly remains in custody, as his bond for the attempted murder charge was set at $1.25 million, an amount he has not yet paid.

Video footage from the May 14 shooting shows the chaotic aftermath, with Eatherly being wheeled away on a stretcher after what police described as a self-inflicted wound.
