Courtney Williams explodes for 30 points as league-leading Lynx dominate Mercury

Courtney Williams delivered a season-high 30 points to lead the Minnesota Lynx to a commanding 95-71 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday night. The Lynx, who now hold the best record in the WNBA, extended their winning streak to seven games with the dominant performance.

Williams shot 13-of-20 from the field and added seven rebounds and five assists. Napheesa Collier contributed 19 points and eight rebounds, while Kayla McBride chipped in 14 points. Minnesota's defense held Phoenix to just 32% shooting from the floor.

The Mercury were led by Diana Taurasi's 18 points, but she struggled from the field, hitting only 6-of-17 shots. Brittney Griner added 14 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort.

Minnesota jumped out to a 28-18 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, building a 22-point advantage by halftime. The Lynx shot 54% from the field and dished out 26 assists on 39 made baskets.

The Lynx (20-6) will look to continue their hot streak when they host the Seattle Storm on Thursday.
