Teenage darts sensation Luke Littler has extended a generous offer to the Prince of Wales, promising tickets to the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace later this year. The 19-year-old, who recently received his MBE at Windsor Castle, had a conversation with Prince William, who described the event as "a good night out."
"Prince William said he's been following the journey and we were just talking about how darts has blown up," Littler told the Press Association. "I didn't invite him, but if he needs a few tickets I'm sure myself or the PDC will sort some."
Littler skyrocketed to fame in 2024 when he reached the PDC world final at just 16 years old. He became the youngest world champion the following year and successfully defended his title in 2026. His rise has significantly boosted the sport's popularity, earning him an MBE in the King's Birthday Honours.
Reflecting on the Windsor Castle ceremony, Littler said: "Turning up to Windsor Castle, it was just like…'how am I here? Why am I here?' It was a crazy experience. And then you've just got to think about what I've done for the sport. Obviously they don't usually come to people so young, but for what I've done for my sport, it's been incredible and the notice has been fantastic."
Littler is now preparing for the Premier League finals on Thursday, where he aims to clinch the title for a second time. He faces Gerwyn Price in the semi-final, with the winner meeting either Jonny Clayton or Luke Humphries in the final. Humphries defeated Littler in last year's final, reversing the result of the 2024 showpiece. The two also clashed in the 2024 World Championship final, which Humphries won.
"If I can make it three finals in a row, I'll be happy, but I'll just try and beat Gezzy first," Littler said. "Some people want to see me against Luke in the final, some people might say it's a bit boring now – Luke and Luke. But if we're both winning, if we're both getting to finals, one and two, no-one can do anything about it."
