Dave Grohl, the 57-year-old frontman of Foo Fighters and former Nirvana drummer, recently opened up about his home life, revealing how he reconnects with his family after extensive touring and addresses personal challenges through therapy.

In an episode of The Dish podcast published on April 22, Grohl shared his post-tour routine: "The first thing I do when I come home from being on tour is I like to cook for the family." He elaborated on his culinary approach, stating, "Whether it's making a roast over the weekend or it's a pasta, I usually bring the comfort—like I'm home and I bring the comfort to the kids."

Grohl's family includes his wife, Jordyn Blum, and their three daughters: Violet Maye, 20; Harper Willow, 17; and Ophelia Saint, 11. He noted that touring sometimes becomes a family affair, with his children joining him in cities like Milan and Stockholm. Reflecting on these experiences, he said, "It really sort of broadens their whole scope or idea of everything."

However, Grohl's family life has faced recent upheaval. In September 2024, he publicly acknowledged fathering a fourth daughter outside his marriage, posting on Instagram: "I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

Since then, Grohl has been actively working on personal growth. In March, he disclosed attending therapy six times a week, explaining, "I think that for many reasons, I wound up in a place that I needed to stop and sit with myself and re-evaluate myself. It's an ongoing process."

Through cooking for his family and intensive counseling, Grohl is navigating both the comforts of home and the complexities of his personal journey.
