Dave Hester, known for his iconic "Yuuup!" on Storage Wars, has spoken out about the death of his longtime on-screen rival Darrell Sheets — and his message is surprisingly heartfelt.
In an emotional video posted Thursday, Hester revealed he was devastated to learn that Sheets had died by suicide. "I hope you're in a better place, brother," Hester said, his voice cracking with emotion. "We had our differences on the show, but off camera, he was family."
Hester and Sheets were known for their heated bidding wars and clashing personalities on the A&E reality hit. Despite their on-screen feuds, Hester insisted their relationship went deeper than what viewers saw. "People think we hated each other. We didn't. We pushed each other. He made me better, and I hope I made him better."
The tribute comes days after TMZ broke the news of Sheets' death at age 67. The storage auction legend had been battling health issues in recent years, but friends say they never expected this.
Hester ended his video with a simple plea: "If you're struggling, talk to someone. Darrell was loved. He just didn't know it."
