Similar events have been observed in other parts of the world, including the 2019-2020 Black Summer bushfires in Australia, which created extreme firestorms that generated their own weather. In the United States, the intense fires in California during the summer of 2021 also produced pyrocumulonimbus clouds, highlighting the global nature of this phenomenon.
