Deadly Plane Crash at Adelaide Airport Leaves Two Dead

Two people died after a small plane crashed into a hangar at Parafield Airport in Adelaide, South Australia, on Wednesday afternoon. The aircraft, a twin-engine Diamond DA42, burst into flames on impact. Authorities confirmed that several others were injured.

South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas expressed condolences on social media, saying, "My thoughts are with the families and loved ones of those who have passed away, and with everyone affected by this devastating event." He added that the fire has been extinguished and the airfield closed, with emergency services remaining on scene.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has launched an investigation. The Diamond DA42 can seat up to four people according to the manufacturer. Parafield Airport, used for light aircraft and flight training schools, is one of Australia's busiest by aircraft movements. In January, a student pilot escaped unhurt after a similar crash and fire at the same airport.

Police said the immediate area was evacuated as emergency personnel responded. The airport's social media confirmed a "serious incident" and pledged full support to emergency services.
