DeChambeau Dismisses PGA Return Rumors, Reaffirms LIV Golf Commitment

Bryson DeChambeau has categorically denied speculation that he is seeking an early exit from LIV Golf, calling the reports "completely untrue."

The two-time major winner addressed the rumors following news that Saudi Arabia plans to withdraw its financial backing from the breakaway league after the 2026 season, casting doubt on LIV's future. Reports had suggested DeChambeau's representatives were in talks with the PGA Tour about a return.

"I'm working as hard as I can to find a solution," the 32-year-old told Flushing It Golf. "I'm committed to making team golf work in the best way possible. I think there's a place for it in the ecosystem and I want to continue to grow the game across the world."

LIV Golf, launched in 2022, lured top players with massive salaries, causing a rift in professional golf. DeChambeau joined that year and, alongside Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith, declined a chance to return to the PGA Tour earlier this year. The PGA Tour had established a returning member program that accepted Brooks Koepka back.

DeChambeau's LIV contract expires at the end of this season, and he had been seeking a new lucrative deal. Despite the funding uncertainty, he remains focused on the league's growth. "We're building a bunch of junior golf events right now and each team is looking to build junior golf academies," he said. "We're looking to host an event here coming up, probably in the next couple of months."

Before the Saudi funding announcement, DeChambeau had expressed optimism about staying with LIV. "As long as LIV is here, I would figure out a way for it to make sense," he said. "We're still working on a potential contract. I haven't given up on that and I think there will be a solution."
