MANILA, Philippines – Diesel prices at the pump are set for their third consecutive weekly rollback, with a reduction of at least P12.94 per liter starting April 28, according to Energy Secretary Sharon Garin.
In a media briefing Monday, Garin urged fuel retailers to reflect the decrease, bringing diesel prices in Metro Manila and other highly urbanized areas down to a range of P75.93 to P107.06 per liter. This marks a significant drop from the peak of around P170 per liter seen during heightened Middle East tensions.
Kerosene prices will also see a reduction of at least P15.71 per liter. However, gasoline prices are expected to inch up by up to 53 centavos per liter.
The rollback offers relief to public transport and logistics sectors heavily reliant on diesel.
