Country music star Keith Urban is reportedly keeping his head up and channeling his energy into his art following his highly publicized divorce from actress Nicole Kidman. Fellow country singer Russell Dickerson recently offered fans an encouraging update on how the hitmaker is navigating his newly single life.
Speaking at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in late March, Dickerson revealed that Urban is doing surprisingly well since finalizing his split in January. While the two artists only had a brief chance to catch up at the Country to Country festival earlier in the month, Dickerson noted that his longtime friend appeared to be in "good spirits."
According to Dickerson, Urban is using the major life transition as fuel for his songwriting.
"He's always been focused on music, and so I think he's just kind of doubling down on that, and it's just beautiful," Dickerson shared. "I can't wait to hear what comes out of it."
Dickerson, who has toured with several of the genre's biggest names, made his loyalty clear, stating affectionately that "Keith Urban is my guy."
The positive update follows Kidman's own recent comments regarding the end of their 19-year marriage. Earlier in March, the Oscar-winning actress assured fans she was doing "all right," emphasizing that her primary focus remains on raising the couple's two teenage daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
"I'm staying in a place of, 'We are a family,' and that's what we'll continue to be," Kidman noted recently. "My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women."
Kidman officially filed for divorce in September of last year, with reports indicating the couple had already been living apart for several months. Their divorce was finalized in January 2026, establishing a custody arrangement where Kidman will spend the majority of the year with their daughters, while Urban retains alternate weekend visits. Despite the massive shift in their personal lives, both stars appear determined to move forward gracefully.
