Dragons Narrowly Defeat Forest to Clinch Third League Victory

LexisNexis Dragons secured their third win of the Netball Super League season with a tense 65-64 victory over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Welsh side completed the season double over Forest, having previously beaten them away in round six. Georgia Rowe led the scoring for Dragons with 35 goals, while Rolene Streutker contributed 31 goals for Forest but could not prevent the fourth-placed team from slipping to defeat.

In other action, London Mavericks closed the gap on Forest to six points with a 63-60 win at Leeds Rhinos. George Inger and Emily Andrew scored 27 and 22 goals respectively for Mavericks, bouncing back from last week's loss to Manchester Thunder. Paige Reed was Rhinos' top scorer with 20 goals, but her side remain in seventh place with only one win this season.

Second-placed London Pulse host leaders Loughborough Lightning on Sunday, while Manchester Thunder welcome bottom side Birmingham Panthers on Monday (both matches at 18:00 BST).
