Pop star Dua Lipa has declined an offer to perform at the much-anticipated heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury later this year, sources confirm.
The British singer was approached about taking part in the event's promotion, but BBC Sport understands she turned down the opportunity and is not expected to be involved.
Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Al-Sheikh had suggested the fight could be in jeopardy if Dua Lipa did not agree to perform. It remains unclear whether that comment was serious or made in jest.
Dua Lipa, 30, is one of the world's biggest pop stars, known for hits like New Rules, Don't Start Now, and Levitating.
Britons Joshua, 36, and Fury, 37, have agreed terms for an all-British showdown targeted for late 2026. A venue has yet to be finalized, but Wembley Stadium in October is the preferred option for organizers.
High-profile musical acts have become a staple at major boxing events in recent years. Rapper Eminem accompanied Terence Crawford to the ring, Liam Gallagher performed before Daniel Dubois' win over Joshua in 2024, and 50 Cent performed during Chris Eubank Jr.'s ringwalk last year.
Before facing Fury, Joshua must first get past Kristian Prenga on July 25 in Saudi Arabia. Fury returned from retirement with a win over Arslanbek Makhmudov last month and is considering another tune-up bout.
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren warned that a Joshua loss in July would likely derail the fight with Fury. The two heavyweights have been linked for years, but previous attempts to make the fight have failed.
If the bout goes ahead, both fighters are expected to earn career-high paydays.
