Duggar In-Laws Break Silence, Express Love for Alleged Victim Amid Family Turmoil

The Caldwell family, whose daughter Kendra Duggar is married to Joseph Duggar, has publicly addressed the recent arrest of their son-in-law for the first time, expressing profound concern for the young girl at the center of the allegations.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Paul and Christina Caldwell wrote, "Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law. We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will."

"Our love for this child remains at the forefront of our family’s priorities and minds," they emphasized. "We are proud of her for being strong enough to share her story while also retaining her own identity and joy."

The Caldwells also acknowledged the impact on their grandchildren, who have reportedly been separated from their mother, Kendra, following her own arrest on related charges. "We also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength," the statement continued. "Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains."

Amid the legal proceedings, Kendra Duggar has maintained contact with her husband, who was released on $600,000 bail after pleading not guilty. In recorded prison phone calls, she offered words of encouragement, telling him, "Just know that everybody loves you—even if they're disappointed. Just understand that they love you, too."

The Duggar family, including parents Jim Bob and Michelle, previously issued a statement expressing they were "heartbroken over this entire situation" and were focused on "loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time."
