Dungeons & Dragons players can now channel the destructive might of colossal monsters thanks to a new playtest option released this week. The Unearthed Arcana document introduces the Circle of the Titan, a druid subclass that allows characters to transform into towering kaiju-like creatures to defend the natural world.
"This subclass is for druids who believe the best way to protect nature is to become an unstoppable force of it," the playtest material states.
Unlike traditional druid wild shapes that transform into animals, Circle of the Titan druids can assume forms reminiscent of legendary movie monsters. The ability scales with character level, allowing druids to grow from large-sized threats to gargantuan titans capable of shaking the battlefield with each step. Early community reactions suggest this could dramatically change how druids function in combat-heavy campaigns.
Game designers noted the subclass is still in testing and may undergo significant changes before potential publication in an official rulebook. Players have until late November to submit feedback through Wizards of the Coast's official survey portal.
