A humorous editing oversight in the newly released trailer for The Devil Wears Prada 2 has fans buzzing, serving as an unexpected testament to the film's massive hype.

In the trailer, which debuted on April 6, Anne Hathaway's character Andy Sachs is seen striding across a New York street in a stylish grey suit. However, eagle-eyed viewers spotted a bystander leaning out of a taxi window, clearly filming the scene with a smartphone—a modern-day intrusion that breaks the cinematic illusion.

"This girl having her phone just wide out the window in the trailer is frying me," one fan wrote on social media platform X.

Rather than criticizing the error, the online reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, with many interpreting the flub as proof of the sequel's cultural significance. The excitement stems from the return of the original cast: Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep as the formidable Miranda Priestly, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all reprising their iconic roles.

The sequel's ensemble has expanded significantly. Newcomers and cameos include Simone Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, and a host of celebrities spotted on set last year, such as Lady Gaga, Sydney Sweeney, and fashion designer Marc Jacobs.

Emily Blunt recently commented on the intense public interest during filming, telling E! News, "We feel a little bit like zoo exhibits. But that’s OK. People are excited." She remained tight-lipped on plot details, however, stating plainly, "I can tell you nothing."

The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for theatrical release on May 1.
