Emily Blunt has shared that her children, Hazel (12) and Violet (9), are thrilled about the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. The kids watched the original film for the first time about a year ago, partly because their friends are fans. Blunt's husband, John Krasinski, is also a massive fan of the first movie, having watched it approximately 75 times.
Blunt mentioned that the whole family got to accompany her during the sequel's shoot in Italy, which allowed Hazel and Violet to spend time with their cousins, Matteo (11) and Emilia (8), the children of Blunt's co-star and brother-in-law, Stanley Tucci.
Tucci commented on the unique overlap of family and work, calling it a strange but enjoyable experience.
Meanwhile, Meryl Streep, who reprises her iconic role as Miranda Priestly, revealed that she was intrigued by the business aspects of the character, especially in today's shifting media landscape. Streep noted that the magazine industry has changed drastically since the original film, and she was curious about where the story would go.
The original movie's wardrobe presented challenges, as many designers were initially reluctant to lend pieces due to fears of offending Anna Wintour. However, production designer Jess Gonchor managed to recreate Wintour's office so authentically that she reportedly redecorated hers after the film's release.
For fans eager to revisit the groundbreaking secrets of the first film, cast members have shared behind-the-scenes stories, including how Streep's method acting kept the cast on edge during the first table read.
