Emily Blunt recently opened up about her family's enthusiastic reaction to the upcoming sequel of The Devil Wears Prada, revealing that her husband John Krasinski and their two daughters are all massive fans of the original film.
Blunt shared that her daughters, Hazel (12) and Violet (9), first watched the 2006 classic about a year ago, partly because their friends were "very into it." The girls have since given it a rewatch in anticipation of the sequel, which hits theaters on May 1. "They just love it," the actress said.
Her husband John Krasinski is equally passionate about the franchise. "He loves this one," Blunt noted. "He's a massive fan of the first movie, so I think everyone was thrilled."
The couple's history with the film goes back to their early dating days. Blunt recalled one instance when she caught Krasinski watching the movie shortly after they started dating in 2008. "She opened the door and I flipped the channel," Krasinski remembered. "She looked at me like, 'Were you just watching porn?'...I think it was better for me at the time for her to think I was watching porn than watching The Devil Wears Prada for the seventy-fifth time."
Blunt has since come to appreciate her husband's dedication to the film. "I'm touched and honored," she said in a previous interview. "He knows every single one of Anne Hathaway's outfits down pat."
Krasinski eventually confessed the extent of his viewing habits. When Blunt asked how many times he had seen the movie, he admitted, "Like 75." This revelation came after about a year of dating, once "there was a lot of trust built up."
The family's excitement for the sequel highlights the enduring appeal of the original film, which continues to captivate new generations of viewers nearly two decades after its release.
