Empowering Women in Tech: New Partnership Creates AI Career Pathways in the Philippines

A new collaboration between Aboitiz Foundation and Innodata Knowledge Services Inc. is set to create significant employment opportunities for Filipino women in the artificial intelligence sector. The partnership focuses on connecting graduates from the Elevate AIDA program with real-world AI jobs while ensuring training aligns with current industry demands.

Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, president of Aboitiz Foundation, emphasized the initiative's importance: "Innodata's support and engagement will significantly advance our shared goal of empowering women through digital upskilling and access to meaningful employment. This is about creating a clear and sustainable path from learning to earning."

Building Digital Skills for the Future

The Elevate AIDA program trains women in data annotation—a critical process that helps AI systems recognize images, understand language, and improve decision-making. These skills power everyday technologies from online search engines to e-commerce platforms and digital assistants.

Designed for accessibility, the program combines live and self-paced online modules, allowing participants to learn while managing household and community responsibilities. With an ambitious goal of training 300,000 women nationwide, Elevate AIDA has already reached communities from Ifugao to Basilan, preparing women for remote work opportunities.

Industry Collaboration for Inclusive Growth

Jemima Villa, country head of Innodata, highlighted the mutual benefits: "This partnership aligns with our commitment to inclusive growth while strengthening our talent pipeline in the AI space."

Connected Women, Aboitiz Foundation's implementing partner, plays a crucial role in delivering training and supporting participants as they transition into the digital workforce.

Expanding Opportunities

Looking ahead, Aboitiz Foundation plans to expand the program through AIDA+, which will introduce training in other high-growth areas such as virtual assistance, data analysis, and digital content creation. This expansion aims to widen access to more participants while deepening collaboration with industry partners.

By aligning skills development with employment opportunities, this initiative demonstrates how strategic partnerships can create inclusive pathways to the future of work, enabling women to contribute meaningfully to their families, communities, and the growing digital economy.
