In a recent guesting on "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the stars of "Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" — Bianca Umali, Kelvin Miranda, Angel Guardian, and Faith Da Silva — shared how they dealt with criticism from long-time fans of the original "Encantadia" series, known as "Enkantadiks."
Faith emphasized humility as key to handling negative feedback, admitting she often reflects on her performance. "I think with a lot of humility... there are moments na parang I could’ve done so much better," she said. "It goes to show na tao lang tayo, we’re still learning."
Angel noted that the deep connection fans have with the story adds to their responsibility. "Malaking part po talaga 'yung mga Enkantadiks na sumusubaybay since 2005. Kabisado nila 'yung story," she said. "It’s our job to make sure our characters are true to that."
Bianca acknowledged that criticism is inevitable. "We cannot please everybody. There will always be bashing alongside all the things that you will do." She added that the cast supports each other through tough times.
Kelvin views criticism as an opportunity for growth. "Mayroong mga komento na literal na bash or trash. Pero sa akin, malaking bagay na mayroon kang nababasa na ganito kasi magkakaroon ka ng pagkakataon na mag-explore sa ibang perspective."
"Encantadia Chronicles: Sang'gre" airs weeknights at 8 p.m. on GMA Network after "24 Oras."
