England Forward Delaney Burns Commits Future to Bristol Bears with New Contract

England second row Delaney Burns has signed a new contract with Bristol Bears, the Premiership Women's Rugby club announced on Tuesday. The 24-year-old, who joined the Bears in 2019, recently surpassed 100 appearances for the team during their victory over Harlequins last month.

Burns earned her fourth cap for the Red Roses in their 62-24 Six Nations win against Wales last weekend. Head coach Scott Lawson praised her dedication, saying, "Reaching 100 appearances at such a young age is a fantastic achievement and speaks volumes about her consistency, durability and the standards she sets every day. She continues to develop her game and her recent recognition with the Red Roses is thoroughly deserved."

Burns follows England teammate Demelza Short in signing a new deal with Bristol. The length of her contract has not been disclosed. Bristol are set to return to league action on 30 May for their final two games of the campaign.

"Pulling on the shirt every week means a lot, and I'm excited to keep pushing myself and contributing to what we're building as a group," Burns said.
