The family of Celeste Rivas is seeking justice for the slain teenager following the arrest of singer D4vd, with their attorney revealing the emotional reaction from her father.
Patrick Steinfeld, the attorney representing the Rivas family, released a statement detailing their plans to exercise their rights under California's Victims' Bill of Rights, commonly known as Marsy's Law. The family intends to attend D4vd's arraignment if the District Attorney proceeds with murder charges and will also participate in any related press conferences.
Steinfeld revealed Celeste's father, Jesus Rivas, said "Thank God ... justice for Celeste" upon learning of D4vd's arrest.
D4vd was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Friday evening and is currently being held without bail. Authorities have indicated that the Los Angeles District Attorney is expected to file criminal charges on Monday. If charges are not filed by that time, D4vd would be released from custody.
The arrest comes more than seven months after Rivas' body was discovered, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
