The family of Celeste Rivas, a woman allegedly murdered by musician D4vd, was left too emotionally devastated to speak publicly after the suspect's first court hearing this week.
Relatives had planned to address the media for the first time since D4vd was charged with Rivas' killing, scheduling a Monday press conference outside the Los Angeles Hall of Justice where their attorney was to deliver a statement. However, the family canceled the appearance at the last minute.
Sources close to the situation revealed the cancellation came after the family attended D4vd's initial court appearance and found themselves too emotionally drained to proceed with the planned media engagement. The hearing marked the first time they had faced the accused in court since the charges were filed.
"The family was supposed to hold court Monday outside the Hall of Justice in Downtown Los Angeles and give a statement through their lawyer ... but it never happened," according to court observers familiar with the case.
