The family of influencer Ashlee Jenae is still searching for her engagement ring, even after her remains were returned to them, TMZ has learned exclusively.
Ashlee’s father, Harry Robinson, told TMZ that her remains arrived in New Jersey on Friday, but none of her personal belongings — including the diamond ring — have been handed over. Robinson said the family has no idea if or when they will get those items back, as they are believed to be held by investigators in the ongoing case.
The family has commissioned an independent autopsy, though results are still pending. They are now planning a funeral service in New Jersey for early next week.
As previously reported, authorities said Ashlee was involved in a dispute with her fiancé, Joe McCann, shortly before she was found. Hotel staff reportedly separated the couple into different rooms — an incident that remains a key focus of the investigation.
While local reports suggested police were exploring suicide, Ashlee’s family strongly rejects that theory. They previously described her as a “beacon of light” who showed no signs of self-harm. The family also says they have heard little from McCann since her death and are still trying to obtain hotel surveillance footage, which they hope will shed light on her final hours. They are even considering traveling to Tanzania to meet with officials face to face as they continue their search for answers.
