Fashion Icons Reunite: Hathaway and Streep Stun on Devil Wears Prada 2 Global Tour

As anticipation builds for the May 1 release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, stars Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep have been turning heads across the globe with their impeccable style during the film's press tour.

"Nobody wants to suspend disbelief for a second," Hathaway recently shared on Fandango's Big Ticket Podcast. "People want you to earn your truth and we made sure that we did."

The fashion-forward journey began in Mexico City at Frida Kahlo's iconic La Casa Azul, where Streep made a bold statement in a custom crimson Dolce & Gabbana suit complete with a satin neck bow and a clever Devil Wears Prada book-shaped clutch. Hathaway countered with a striking black Schiaparelli ensemble featuring a golden eye motif on the bodice and delicate fringe detailing.

Hathaway's stylist Erin Walsh explained the thoughtful approach behind the looks, noting they aimed for "intentional dressing" that honored each location's cultural significance. "It really taps into that 'Art is fashion' idea," Walsh revealed in an Instagram video. "To kick things off, a little bit of art, a little bit of fashion, a lot of fun and a lot of intention."

The tour continued to Tokyo, where Streep dazzled in a red-and-white Chanel two-piece suit with black fringe accents, while Hathaway chose a dramatic black-and-red ruffle-skirted Valentino gown for the Japan premiere. Each appearance demonstrated how the actors' real-world style evolution parallels their characters' fashion journeys in the upcoming sequel.

Reflecting on her character Andy Sachs' wardrobe development, Hathaway described it as living "at the corner of practical and fabulous." She added, "She looks cute, her choices are expensive and they're curated for her by her."

With the global tour showcasing fashion as both art and narrative, Hathaway and Streep prove that even after two decades, the devil still wears the most fabulous outfits.
