Fat Joe says the Cleveland Cavaliers pulled a fast one on him during the Knicks playoff sweep, cancelling his courtside tickets at the last minute. The rapper, a well-known Knicks superfan, flew to Cleveland for Game 4 expecting premium seats—only to be told he wasn't welcome.
"I bought courtside tickets to Cleveland. We flew in, and they found out it was Fat Joe early afternoon and they were like, 'Yo, you're dead on the tickets,'" Joe told TMZ Sports in New York.
He added that he's not even sure if he got a refund. "We might've gotten robbed for the money." Courtside seats can cost tens of thousands of dollars, so the loss stung.
Fortunately, a last-minute hookup got Joe and a friend into the arena. "We bought the tickets, and then they was like, 'Oh no, you Fat Joe, super fan of the Knicks, you ain't coming up here to do all that at courtside.' So then last minute, somebody gave us two tickets to the game. We was like really stranded in Cleveland. They did us dirty."
Despite the drama, the Knicks won the game, completing the sweep. Joe didn't let the ticket fiasco ruin his night, but he made it clear he won't forget how the Cavaliers treated him.
