Newly obtained footage shows FBI agents searching the Hawaii residence of social media influencer Gabbie Gonzalez in November 2022, seizing phones, SD cards, and Apple devices as part of an investigation into an alleged murder-for-hire plot targeting her ex-boyfriend Jack Avery.
The video captures Gonzalez's then-husband, Cody Clayburn, speaking with agents outside the home. He expressed concern for Gonzalez, who was inside during the raid. Court documents reveal that authorities confiscated 12 items, including a MacBook, multiple iPhones, SD cards, and thumb drives, indicating a broad search for digital evidence.
A federal warrant authorized the search after a U.S. magistrate judge in Honolulu found probable cause. Clayburn told TMZ he first learned of the situation during the raid and received only a "diluted version" of events from Gonzalez afterward. He claimed he did not fully understand the allegations until much later.
According to sources, federal investigators ultimately deemed the evidence insufficient for arrests. In 2025, the case was transferred to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department. Last week, Gonzalez was arrested in Humboldt County, California, while boarding a flight, and was later moved to Los Angeles County jail with bail set at $2 million. Her father, Francisco, was also arrested in Florida on the same charges.
Clayburn reacted to the news on Instagram with a single word: "Karma."
