Firefox has introduced a suite of customizable widgets for its new tab page, including a focus timer and a checklist, making it easier to stay on task without leaving the browser. The widgets, which began rolling out this week, also offer sports scores and world clocks, but the productivity tools are already winning over users.

"I launched Firefox this morning to find some new blocks on my home page," said Stevie Bonifield, a news writer who tested the features. "The widgets add sports scores, time zones, a focus timer, and a checklist, which are already some of my favorite new Firefox features in years."

Bonifield noted that she previously relied on separate apps like Focus Friend for timers and Google Tasks for checklists. Now, she can access similar functionality every time she opens a new tab. "My phone's homescreen is full of useful widgets, so it's a nice addition to have the timer and checklist pop up in my browser," she added.

The update reflects a growing trend of browsers integrating productivity tools directly into the user experience, reducing the need for third-party extensions or apps.
