The incident occurred just as the musician was entering a building for a scheduled appointment. Authorities suspect the attack was premeditated, as the assailant allegedly uncovered the details of Buckingham's itinerary and lay in wait for his arrival.
Fortunately, Buckingham emerged from the frightening encounter completely unscathed. Law enforcement officials indicated that the suspect is not a random stranger, but rather a woman with whom the rocker has had previous run-ins. Police anticipate making an arrest in the near future.
