Matt Fitzpatrick carded four birdies to share the lead of the Scottish Open before a thick fog brought play to a halt during the third round at The Renaissance Club.
Fitzpatrick's strong performance put him atop the leaderboard alongside another competitor, but visibility dropped significantly in the afternoon, forcing officials to suspend the round. The tournament is expected to resume once conditions improve.
"It was tough out there with the fog rolling in, but I'm happy with how I played," Fitzpatrick commented after his round.
The English golfer, a former US Open champion, is seeking his first Scottish Open title. Play will continue on Sunday with the final round shortened if necessary.
