Gracie Hunt, the 27-year-old daughter of Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, has announced her engagement to Derek Green, son of former Chiefs quarterback Trent Green. The couple shared the news on Instagram on April 4, nearly one year after publicly confirming their relationship.
In a romantic outdoor proposal captured in multiple photos, Derek knelt on a wooden deck surrounded by white candles and flowers while wearing a light gray suit. Gracie wore a flowing white dress for the occasion. The engagement ring features a prominent emerald-cut green stone accented with diamonds along the band.
"It was always you," Gracie wrote in her Instagram caption, with Derek responding, "FOREVER AND EVER."
The couple's families expressed their excitement about the union. Derek's mother, Julie Green, commented, "Couldn't be happier to gain another daughter!! Congratulations D and G! Love you both so much!!" Gracie's mother, Tavia Hunt, added, "DREAMS DO COME TRUE!!"
Though they made their relationship Instagram official in May 2025 during a tropical getaway, the couple's connection dates back much further. Gracie revealed to People magazine in August that they've known each other since childhood.
"Derek and I have known each other our whole lives," she said. "We would actually play together as babies during the Chiefs' Christmas parties every year, and then we reconnected as adults in 2017 and met on the sidelines pregame. We have been inseparable ever since."
Gracie works in brand development and marketing for the Kansas City Chiefs, while Derek's father, Trent Green, played quarterback for the team from 2001 to 2006 during his 15-season NFL career.
