French Actress Nadia Farès Dies at 57 After Pool Accident

French actress Nadia Farès has died at age 57 following a tragic swimming pool accident, her family confirmed Friday.

According to reports from Agence France-Presse, Farès was discovered unconscious in a Paris swimming pool on April 11. She remained in a coma after being rescued from the water before passing away several days later.

"Her daughters confirmed her death in a statement," the AFP reported, marking the official announcement of the actress's passing.

Farès began her acting career in the 1990s with roles in television series including "Counterstrike" starring Christopher Plummer and "The Exile." She gained wider recognition with her breakthrough performance in the 2000 thriller "The Crimson Rivers."

Her filmography includes notable appearances in "Storm Warning," "War," "Lucky Day," and the Mel Gibson thriller "On The Line." Her final screen role came last year in the film "Toujours possible," where she portrayed a 55-year-old biologist grappling with the desire to have a child.

The entertainment world mourns the loss of the talented actress, whose career spanned over three decades and included both French and international productions.
