From NLP to LLMs: Hugging Face Course Gets a Major Upgrade

Hugging Face has announced a significant transformation of its popular Natural Language Processing (NLP) course, rebranding it as the Large Language Model (LLM) course. The update reflects the rapid shift in the AI landscape towards generative models and foundation models.

"The NLP course is becoming the LLM course," the team stated, signaling a new focus on the technologies powering modern chatbots and text generation systems.

The course, which previously covered topics like tokenization, sequence classification, and transformer architectures, now expands to include instruction fine-tuning, reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), prompt engineering, and deployment of LLMs. The move comes as demand for expertise in LLMs surges among developers and enterprises.

Hugging Face plans to release updated modules over the coming months, with hands-on exercises using their own Transformers library and datasets. Existing NLP course materials will remain available but will be gradually deprecated as the new content rolls out.
