Game of Thrones Actor Michael Patrick, 35, Dies After Courageous Battle with Motor Neurone Disease

Michael Patrick, an actor best known for his appearance on the hit series "Game of Thrones," has died at age 35 after a multi-year struggle with motor neurone disease.

His wife, Naomi Sheehan, announced his passing in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, describing the family as "broken-hearted" over the loss. She affectionately referred to him as "Mick" and shared that he was diagnosed with the progressive neurological condition in February 2023.

Motor neurone disease, as defined by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, gradually destroys the neurons responsible for essential functions like breathing, swallowing, speaking, and walking.

"He was a titan of a ginger haired man and an inspiration," Sheehan wrote in her tribute. "He lived a life as full as any human can live. Joy, abundance of spirit, infectious laughter."

Beyond his role in "Game of Thrones," Patrick's acting credits included appearances in television shows such as "Blue Lights," "My Left Nut," and "This Town."

The entertainment community and fans are mourning the loss of the young actor, remembered by his loved ones for his vibrant spirit and resilience during his health battle.
