The GenAISiS TRAIN project, led by Robert Gordon University, has launched a series of workshops at the Aberdeen Science Centre to promote ethical AI education among young learners.
The initiative builds on the earlier GenAISiS (Generative Artificial Intelligence Skills in Schools) research, which involved school pupils co-creating animated cartoon stories and an open educational toolkit. The toolkit covers ethical AI use, privacy, digital literacy, critical thinking, and responsible communication.
GenAISiS TRAIN aims to expand this impact by developing a train-the-trainer model for sustainable delivery across schools, science centres, and public libraries. The project collaborates with Aberdeen Science Centre's established public engagement program.
Funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council [grant number EP/Y009800/1] through Responsible AI UK, the project runs from January 5 to March 31, 2026. It uses Plotagon animation tools, with permission from Plotagon.
The project team includes Konstantina Martzoukou (Project Lead), Pascal Chinedu Ezenkwu, Palika Vithana, and Lynda Mcconnach.
