General Santos Airport Shut to Commercial Traffic Until June 11 After Strong Quake

The General Santos International Airport will remain closed to commercial flights until June 11, following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Sarangani on Monday. Only government, military, and humanitarian flights are currently permitted.

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) issued an advisory stating that a Notice to Airmen (Notam) will remain in effect until 6 p.m. on June 11, effectively halting all commercial air traffic to and from the airport.

The closure comes as authorities continue to assess damage and ensure runway safety after the powerful quake.
