The Huddersfield Giants have solidified their recent resurgence, securing a commanding 34-14 victory over the York Knights to notch consecutive Super League wins for the first time since August 2025.
Fresh off a stunning upset against the Wigan Warriors, Huddersfield exploded from the opening whistle. The Giants raced to an 18-0 lead within the first quarter-hour, with Adam Clune, Niall Evalds, and Tanguy Zenon all crossing the try line in a blistering offensive display.
York managed to stem the tide before halftime. Debutant Will Roberts scored off a clever grubber kick from Ata Hingano, and later set up David Nofoaluma for a try, narrowing the gap to 18-8 at the break.
However, Huddersfield's Jacob Gagai took control in the second half, powering through for two crucial tries to extend the lead. York's Paul McShane provided a moment of brilliance with a superb aerial pass to find Nikau Williams in the corner, but any hope of a comeback was extinguished when Zac Woolford intercepted a pass and raced away to score his first try for the club.
The 20-point victory marks a second win under interim head coach Liam Finn and signals a significant shift in momentum for the Giants' campaign.
York Knights head coach Mark Applegarth expressed frustration with his team's start, telling BBC Radio York: "I thought it was a very poor start from us. We knew Huddersfield would be well organised and with the wind in their sails after last week, but we can't give a team 18 points and expect anything other than what we got."
