Globe Telecom Inc. has launched its direct-to-device satellite service in earthquake-stricken areas of Mindanao to restore communication links after cell site outages. This is the first time the Ayala-led telecommunications company has used the technology for disaster and emergency response. The service, backed by Starlink, was previously announced for commercial rollout this month.
