Google has rolled out a new Ambient API for Google Photos that automatically syncs new images to compatible digital photo frames, eliminating the need for manual updates.
Aura, a popular maker of digital photo frames, is the first to fully adopt the API. Previously, users had to manually add photos to their frames via the Google Photos interface. Now, any new photos added to a linked album will appear on the frame automatically.
The update is a lifesaver for Aura owners who rely on their frames to display a constantly rotating gallery of family memories. As one user put it, "Now you don’t have to manually add new photos of loved ones to your grandma’s Aura frame."
