Google is expanding its new gradient icon design to more of its apps, following an initial rollout in late 2025. The updated look replaces the uniform circle icons that previously crammed in every color of the Google logo.
According to images obtained by 9to5Google, the new icons feature softer, rounder corners and gentle gradient transitions that move from pastel hues to more saturated Google primary colors. The design language was first seen on the updated Google G logo and is now making its way to other apps like Gmail.
The change reflects a move towards a more cohesive and visually pleasing aesthetic across Google's product lineup.
