Gunfire Near 'Tyrant' Set Forces Evacuation of Demi Moore and Charlize Theron Amid World Cup Chaos

Production on the Amazon MGM thriller Tyrant ground to a halt on Friday after a shooting erupted near the film's location in Los Angeles during a World Cup watch party. The incident, which left one person injured, prompted the set to be cleared as a precaution.

The film, starring Charlize Theron, Demi Moore, Julia Garner, and Hudson Williams, was shooting in Koreatown when a large gathering to watch the Mexico vs. South Korea match turned violent. A suspect was arrested at the scene.

A source close to production told TMZ that the Los Angeles Police Department did not order the evacuation, but the production team decided to send cast and crew home for safety. The choice proved prescient: after Mexico's 1-0 victory, the LAPD issued a city-wide tactical alert, flooding Koreatown with additional officers to manage the crowds.

Little is known about Tyrant except that it marks the feature directorial debut of writer and director David Weil.
