Gunman in Viral Makati-Taguig Road Rage Incident Turns Over Weapon to Police

The man seen brandishing a firearm during a road dispute between Makati and Taguig, which went viral on social media, has voluntarily surrendered his gun, according to the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The PNP confirmed that the suspect, whose identity has not been released pending further investigation, handed over the weapon to authorities. The incident, captured on video and widely shared online, showed the man waving a gun during an altercation, sparking public outrage and calls for swift legal action.

Police officials stated that they are continuing their inquiry and have reminded the public that carrying firearms outside of legal guidelines is strictly prohibited. The suspect may face charges for illegal possession of firearms and alarm and scandal.

The PNP also urged motorists to remain calm and resolve disputes peacefully, emphasizing that resorting to violence or intimidation with weapons will not be tolerated.
