In a recent interview with Architectural Digest, the actress offered a glimpse into their family's daily routines and the thoughtful touches they've added to their home since welcoming their baby girl earlier this month.
"I value a meal away from technology, and even if it's just the two of us," Steinfeld shared, "if it's us with friends, with family—that time is so limited with the opportunity to have uninterrupted conversation over a great meal."
While she admits their dinners are sometimes enjoyed in front of the television, the couple prefers gathering at the dining table to savor moments of connection. This focus on intentional time extends to their morning rituals, where a new coffee machine has become a cherished part of their day.
"There's something about just watching my husband on a slower morning—when he has time to make himself a coffee," she explained. "That grounding, small act of care before the day begins. I love that."
Steinfeld also detailed the careful preparation of their newborn's nursery, describing a process filled with both excitement and meticulous planning. She emphasized creating a space that feels "bright and airy and comfortable," with warm, soft lighting being a particular priority.
"I have been going back and forth on so many details—more than I care to admit," she confessed, "but it really has been such a fun part about getting ready for this new season of life."
The couple has begun collecting meaningful items to display throughout their home, including a special porcelain pig they brought back from their wedding location. "It represents prosperity and good fortune, and it's also just so beautiful," Steinfeld noted. "I just love it, and we have a few of them around the house."
Steinfeld and Allen, who married in May 2025 and announced their daughter's birth on April 2, are navigating parenthood while splitting time between Western New York and California.
