Hailey Bieber has directly addressed persistent online rumors suggesting she orchestrates paparazzi appearances, dismissing the claims as "icky" and rooted in a "dark" mentality. In a candid interview with Interview Magazine, the model and Rhode founder expressed bewilderment at the conspiracy theories that circulate on social media.
"The spirit behind it is very dark and I don’t think it’s something that anybody asks for in this world," Bieber stated. "So I find it really funny when I’ll see people online being like, ‘She calls the paparazzi on herself every day.’ It’s so icky."
Reflecting on the long-standing issue of intrusive photography, the 29-year-old noted, "Historically we’ve seen that paparazzi are awful. I don’t think it’s gotten any better or any worse." Despite her discomfort, she admitted that the constant scrutiny has made her more conscious of her style choices in casual settings.
"When you’re being photographed just leaving the house, you have to think about style in a lot of different ways," she explained. "I’ve worn something where in person it looked great and then it photographed super awkwardly, so I’m a lot more conscious of it."
The conversation also touched on her family life with husband Justin Bieber and their 19-month-old son, Jack Blues. Bieber shared her approach to parenting style, favoring simplicity and comfort for her toddler.
"I like dressing him more on the simple side," she said. "I like putting him in big baggy sweats or jeans and a white t-shirt or a little hoodie. Justin’s team has made him tons of custom Skylrk stuff, which is so cute. My vibe with him is cozy and yummy and cute and simple."
Her comments come as the Bieber family celebrates Justin's recent headline performance at Coachella. Hailey shared a glimpse of their weekend on Instagram, posting a carousel of photos that included matching sweatpants outfits for her and Jack, captioning it, "Such a special weekend... Nobody will ever know even an ounce of what it’s taken to get here. so grateful for this beautiful life. SO proud. let’s do it all again!!!!"
