A growing memorial for Celeste Rivas Hernandez outside her parents' home in Lake Elsinore, CA, continues to draw attention following the arrest of musician D4vd, real name David Burke. The scene, captured in photos on Thursday, features a large "Justice for Celeste Rivas" banner stretched across the fence, alongside her picture, surrounded by flowers, teddy bears, and candles spelling out her name on the ground.
Celeste was just 14 years old when her body was found last year—dismembered and decomposing in the trunk of Burke's Tesla. Her death certificate, initially released in September, has now been updated: the cause of death was changed from "deferred" to "penetrating injuries," and it no longer indicates she was not pregnant.
Burke has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty, with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 26.
