Hilary Duff recently shared a deeply personal and supernatural experience involving her late ex-boyfriend, Aaron Carter. The Lizzie McGuire star revealed that the late singer reached out to her from beyond the grave during an unexpected psychic reading.
Carter tragically passed away at age 34 in 2022 following an accidental drowning. Though decades have passed since their high-profile early 2000s Disney Channel romance, Duff says their bond apparently transcends this life.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Las Culturistas podcast, the 38-year-old actress recounted the chilling phone call. Duff explained that the medium initially had no idea who was on the other end of the line—until Carter seemingly made his presence known.
According to Duff, the psychic suddenly announced that spirits were beginning to gather around her.
"She's, like, 'Well, people are gonna start showing up for you. And there's someone here. Aaron—two As,'" Duff recalled. "I was like, 'Oh my god.'"
When Duff asked if the spirit belonged to her childhood sweetheart, the psychic quickly confirmed it, asking, "What the hell's he doing here?" Once Duff explained their romantic history, the medium was finally able to deduce the actress's identity.
While Duff chose to keep the exact message from Carter private, she described the spiritual visit as a "really wild experience."
The encounter holds special weight for Duff, who remains deeply connected to the Carter family. She noted that she is incredibly close with Aaron's twin sister, Angel, describing her as a "lovely literal angel" and sharing that their children even attend the same school.
