In a north London Victorian terrace, art collector and author Ruth Evans has transformed her home into a vibrant canvas. After 30 years and three renovations, she has chosen a palette bursting with color to showcase her vast art collection.
Evans explains, "Each renewal of the house marks a stage in my life. First it was a comfortable home in which to raise a child; then, in my 40s, it was about bringing my own sense of style to where I live; and now it's the rest of my days: a culmination of everything I've learned over the years – the aesthetics, colour and art that make the house sing."
Walking through the rooms, one is greeted with a symphony of red, yellow, pink, green, purple, and orange. The nursery rhyme "I Can Sing a Rainbow" comes to mind as the bright and beautiful spaces unfold, each carefully curated to highlight her collection.
