Hugging Face and AWS Join Forces to Democratize AI Access

Hugging Face and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced an expanded strategic partnership aimed at making artificial intelligence more open and accessible to developers worldwide. The collaboration focuses on accelerating the development and deployment of next-generation machine learning models by leveraging AWS's cloud infrastructure, including Amazon SageMaker and custom AI chips like Trainium and Inferentia.

"The future of AI is here, but it's not evenly distributed," said Clement Delangue, CEO of Hugging Face. "Accessibility and transparency are the keys to sharing progress and creating tools to use these new capabilities wisely and responsibly."

Under the partnership, Hugging Face will use AWS as its preferred cloud provider, enabling its community of over 100,000 models to train, fine-tune, and deploy models more efficiently and cost-effectively. AWS customers will also benefit from seamless integration with Hugging Face's model hub, allowing them to deploy state-of-the-art models in just a few clicks.

AWS CEO Adam Selipsky highlighted the transformative potential of generative AI, noting that the partnership aims to put this technology within reach of more organizations. Hugging Face's platform already sees over 1 million daily model downloads, and AWS is the most popular cloud for running these models. The partnership builds on a prior collaboration that saw exponential growth in Hugging Face usage on SageMaker.

Both companies believe this alliance will bridge the gap between large tech firms and the broader AI community, fostering innovation and responsible AI development.
